I'M GLAD YOU'RE HERE

One of the best things about being a philosopher is getting to know myself on a deeper level. And to help other's learn to do the same. So let me share a little about myself.

HI, I'M JACOB

While we share nearly identical DNA, everyone is unique. Let's explore how unique we are, and why trying to get a handle on our individual realities is so difficult, or easy, if you know a formula that works.

MY STORY

When I look in the mirror, what am I looking at?

I remember asking myself this question 34 years ago.

My Reality is simple and peaceful at this point in my life, but there was a time it wasn't. I was all over the place, wishing I could center myself and realizing I didn't know how. I also noticed that many other people struggle with the same problem.

WHY DO I SHARE?

You may ask me, "Why are you so confident that your reality is simple? And why do you believe your formula is correct?

I am confident that it is simple, because I feel it, I can see it, and I'm living it. To get here was not an easy road. I have been on the roller-coaster 40 years now, and have gone through some dark years and phases of life. I am an open person by nature, which has led me to think in many different ways, and experience many different things.

I was also raised by a philosophical and religious mother, who would say things to me when I was young like, "People see life in a mirror, Jake." When I was younger I kind of understood what she meant, but not until later did I fully appreciate the value of that observation.

MY VALUES

I believe we have such confusion because we are forced to use words to express our thoughts and feelings to ourselves and others. The problem is all the words we use have their own unique value we personally apply to them. This is because we are mainly emotional creatures, sprinkled with some rationality.
